    My Africa: Elephant Keeper

    By Vision3 and Conservation International

Journey beyond Conservation International’s award-winning My Africa 360 film to discover a unique, tactile and interactive location-based VR experience as you care for Dudu, the newest arrival at the Elephant Sanctuary.

My Africa: Elephant Keeper will enable you to experience a rare connection with a precious animal while learning more about a conservation story unfolding in northern Kenya.

Vision3 and Conservation International created this experience to take virtual reality to the next level. The participant is able to move around in a photorealistic environment and provide care to a baby elephant – including feeding it milk, wetting its ears and listening to its heartbeat. My Africa: Elephant Keeper aims to educate — and to create a lasting impact.

Built for HTC's Vive Pro system - the project uses real world objects, including a 3D-printed replica of the genuine Reteti Sanctuary feeding bottle, connected via Vive Trackers to create a truly empowering free roam experience.

My Africa and My Africa: Elephant Keeper were launched at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival as a two-part immersive experience. Audiences sat under a model acacia tree built from sustainable sources within a stunning custom-built installation.

Audiences first watched the 10-minute 360 film, narrated by Academy Award-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o, which transported viewers to an elephant sanctuary in Kenya, where a community is reknitting the bonds that have long enabled people and wildlife to coexist.

The audiences then are given the truly unique opportunity to care for the elephant sanctuary’s newest arrival – a baby named Dudu.
